Why Prefabrication

The world is reaching new heights of technological advancement at an ever increasing rate, while many of conventional lifestyle methods are becoming obsolete. These new avenues are not only paving the way for more hassle-free standards of living but are also creating ‘empathetic-reflective’ attitudes towards mother nature. Climate change is the single most threatening challenge that the world is facing and it has now started affecting every living being in adverse ways. We are now pushed to question the basics of modern day living, leading to a paradigm shift in building infrastructures and their footprints on the environment.

The notion of Sustainable Living was rolled out during the past century to construct communities in sync with nature. Which leads to, as a thought process, ditching the traditional brick, mortar and cement structures in favor of prefabricated building technology.

Prefabrication provides a controlled system of construction where factory-made modular units or panels are transported and assembled on-site to form a complete accommodation. Such arrangements give the client control over flexibility and customization in the long run. Prefabricated components are developed considering the on-site varying weather, longevity of the finished structure, consistent material quality, value for money, reduced risk factors and reliable time schedules. These structures also provide various ways to make the most of environment-friendly resources; not only during its erection but also in being functional for urban and rural day-to-day utilization, leaving as low a carbon footprint as possible.

The beauty of prefabricated building is the prospect of having options open for creativity without any boundary of time, climate or major depreciation risks. One can alter, adjust, expand, elevate or condense the finished house or building while continuing a regular routine inside.

Architects are now starting to incorporate modern design and Green-Credentials into contemporary prefabrication, because of which the adaptation trend is improving around the world. And while first-world societies are increasingly switching towards this alternate-living style, it is still fairly new in the third-world countries. In Pakistan, this type of construction is currently used more in commercial structures and its introduction in home-making is still at the budding stages.

With this developmental vision in mind, Thar Prefabrication aims to launch ecologically responsible-construction-concept as a go-to design priority for housing choices in Pakistan. We believe access to sustainable living is vital for the economic growth from the grass root levels, which is why we are raising our modernistic construction approach from our base campus in south and aspiring to take it to every corner of Pakistan in the forthcoming years.

Establishing ourselves as a futuristic infrastructure company in Pakistan, Thar Prefabrication offers end-to-end space solutions for people who are passionate about bringing a sustainable, eco-friendly and off-the-grid lifestyle approach to their life.

Thar Prefabrication aims to provide a non-conventional architectural approach for commercial and residential spaces in urban and rural environments across Pakistan, while considering Pakistan’s diverse geography as an advantage for promoting the concept of smart living in modern dwellings.

Our state-of-the-art, built-to code prefab modules provide creative freedom for customization enthusiasts who prioritize effective and efficient living spaces within a reasonable budget. We offer two basic forms of prefabrication technology i.e. modular buildings and panel-based structures for a wide variety of applications and architectural styles in sync with natural site and location requirements.

Operating from our base in South of Pakistan, we can promptly connect with tall corners of the country to deliver our products at the appointed time, making the new construction processes swift from initial mapping till final installation.

Who we are

Why Thar

Lying in extreme South-East of Pakistan is the vast and open land of the desert of Thar region, spread over an area of around 20,000 square kilometers. Thar is a unique desert in the world owing to its ecology and its vegetation that turns green in the monsoon seasonal rains.

As an under-developed area, it needs opportunities for developing its human capital through training and sustainable employment. Populated with people who have endured a hard way of life for centuries, the land of Thar offers unique advantages. The recent discovery of large coal deposits has created major investment of resources in the area, with the side benefit of creation of a good basic road network. With the large metropolis and port city of Karachi just about 300 Km away, safe roads, and ready availability of modern transportation ensures that reaching Thar is no longer a challenge.

The wide-open desert landscape, with an interesting terrain and topography and rich cultural and historical background invites you to think of possibilities. The possibilities of creating real value; of prosperity and sustainability, and of progress – all achieved by developing human capital, skills, knowledge and building on indigenous ingenuity – to seek new answers to existing problems and to build a better future for the people of Thar.

As the world stands on the brink of turning away from fossil fuels, the coal is perhaps not the long-term future of Thar region while it may just be a transitory phase. The real future of Thar lies with its future generations of people and

their capability. In the vast oil-producing regions of Middle East, governments are grappling with the problems in a post oil world, and the consensus is on building knowledge economies. The realization has come to move away from the reliance on oil towards developing human capital by investment into education and skills. This is one of the key ideas of our future outlook for Thar.

It is with this frame of mind that we seek to work in Thar. To gradually develop local human capital into artists, craftsmen, architects, engineers, technicians, makers, builders – and to apply this valuable human resource to solve problems in the areas of sustainable modern prefabricated architecture and housing – to develop associated handicraft trades such as woodwork, metalwork along with the high-tech digital manufacturing, making it easy to blend modern technology with such craft like skills in order to be able to build products in many categories. There is plentiful access to low cost land to build a state-of-the-art spacious prefabrication campus. The advent of affordable solar energy breaks us free from many other constraints of setting an industry close to traditional energy sources.

Being in Thar takes you away from the problems of over-populated large cities. The very nature of a wide-open land and its wild beauty forces you to think without constraints – and that is also one of our reasons to be in Thar.

Incredible as always. This guys have excellent taste, modeling, texturing & rendering skills. The design fits in with what I would perceive as being Icelandic, the high wooden roof design and linear slatted interior elements and colours.
